Oracle Discovers: Watches for July 2025

Beaubleu Ecce Figura, €890 (Approx. £750)

Beaubleu Ecce Figura Onyx

Beaubleu is a Parisian microbrand that take an unapologetically French approach to watch design. The biggest difference between the Ecce Figura and Beaubleu’s previous collections is the shape of the case. Instead of a standard circle, the new watch is semi-octagonal. To you or me that means it’s rectangular with rounded corners. They’re equipped with circular hands, which is Beaubleu’s signature design element and while it’s in theory a simple change, the impact on how you read the watch is drastic.

Available at Beaubleu.

Nadir Vespera Blue, €466,10 (Approx. £400)

Nadir Vespera Blue

The Nadir Vespera is a versatile tool watch designed to tackle the modern adventure, whether that’s off-roading, motorbiking or hiking. It has a rugged steel case made from the 904l alloy with superior corrosion resistance, making it ideal for watches designed to withstand the elements and water. The style of the Vespera is inspired by super compressors with an internal rotating bezel and dual crown system. Inside is the Miyota 9015 with 42-hour power reserve, an absolute stalwart of the industry. They are sold in the UK via their authorised distributor MicroExpress.

Heron Watches Marinor, £465 – £495

Héron Marinor Atlantic Blue

The Heron Marinor is one of the seminal watches to emerge from the microbrand dive watch sector over the past five years. A versatile, 300m diver inspired by the iconic design codes of the 1950s. It features a classic layout of oversize, lumed hour markers to ensure legibility even in the dark depths below the waves and gradient dials in dark blue, blue and black, as well as the equally popular Ghost editions. It’s powered by the automatic Miyota 9039 movement, a practical and accessible mechanical movement that keeps the price under £500.

It’s the first watch to draw directly from Moldova’s culture, architecture, and traditions. It makes for a unique design housed in a 40.5mm steel case powered by the Miyota 9039 automatic.

Perun Veles Midnight Black, €1,350 (Approx. £1,150)

Perun Veles Midnight Black

Pointer date watches are a rare sight these days, which is part of what makes Perun’s Veles stand out. At its core is Swiss Sellita SW221-1 movement, set in a 40mm 316L stainless steel case. The Midnight Black model features a deep black, glossy enamel dial, offering rich contrast and subtle depth. References to Slavic heritage – like the Veles horns at 12, Perun’s thunder marks and a deeply engraved caseback – add meaning without overpowering the design. A versatile, quietly expressive GADA watch built with care, heritage, and heart.

Available at Perun.
