IWC Schaffhausen x Selfridges
IWC has been on everyone’s minds recently thanks in large part to F1: The Movie, which had a strong opening weekend in cinemas. Speaking of F1, as the tour winds its way to Silverstone this weekend, IWC are seemingly following in its slipstream with the announcement of two new boutiques opening in the UK as well. The new IWC boutiques are located in London and Edinburgh.
Starting with the London shop and it’s not technically brand-new shop – instead it’s a revamp of an existing space. The Selfridges Wonder Room has long been home to many iconic watch brands including IWC but now they’re moving into a more prominent corner boutique position with an increased presence. If you’ve ever been to the Wonder Room, you know what to expect – an inviting atmosphere and more display cases than you can shake a stick at.
Second is the new Edinburgh boutique, which is being opened in partnership with Chisholm Hunter, one of IWC’s established retail partners. The most significant fact about the opening of this boutique, which is located at 99 Princes Street, Edinburgh, EH2 3AA, is that it’s IWC’s first dedicated space in the whole of Scotland. Edinburgh is certainly becoming a major hotspot for watch boutiques in the UK, joining London, Manchester and Liverpool as a prime watch shopping locale.

If you’re an IWC fan, one of the most exciting features of these boutiques is that they bring with them the opportunity to see their watches up close and in person before you buy. Plus, as the name suggests, by being a boutique they have access to all of the boutique exclusive editions that IWC release. Making them some of only a few places in the UK you can get hold of certain watches.
So if you want to pick up one of the new F1: The Movie capsule collection watches, inspired perhaps by Silverstone weekend, now you know where you need to go. I might stick to the London boutique rather than trekking up to Edinburgh but hey, you do you.
