Table Pong Project Revives an 80s Classic

Table Pong Project Ping Pong Table

It’s common knowledge that 1980s arcade classics are now standard issue for super-luxe man caves, but this new rendering of Pong takes the fashion for old school video gaming to a new level. Approximately sitting level to be exact. Inspired by the classic Atari game and now put together by Calinfer Inc. this is a delightfully analogue rendering of video gaming pleasure recreated with motors, rails, pulleys and magnets.

Five motors drive the mechanism combining angles to simulate the authentic 2D movement. The header controls the ball from underneath the playing field through magnetic forces. The short bars and the ball sit on top of the playing field creating magic for people of all ages. With Table Pong you experience the ATARI Pong game on a whole new dimension; two-player mode or single player against the machine. It’s stylish nostalgia in coffee table format.

The ATARI Pong coffee table is currently on Kickstarter and can be pre-ordered by pledging a minimum of $900, saving you $790 from the estimated retail price of $1,690 when it officially launches in December. For more information go to Table Pong Project’s website.
