H. Moser & Cie. Introduce Streamliner Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Blue Enamel

H Moser and Cie Streamliner Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Blue Enamel

When H. Moser & Cie. announced the launch of their new Streamliner Minute Repeater, I had a sudden feeling of déjà vu. Haven’t they only recently launched a Streamliner Minute Repeater? Answer: kind of. Back in 2023 H. Moser teamed up with MB&F to create the Streamliner Pandamonium for Only Watch, which was essentially a unique piece Streamliner Minute Repeater. Now we have their own version sans MB&F collab and sans panda DJ as part of the Streamliner Concept range named the Streamliner Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Blue Enamel.

The new watch measures 43.3mm in diameter in steel and has the Streamliner’s signature cushion shape with smooth flanks and an integrated bracelet. In a world of homage designs, it’s one of the few genuinely unique case shapes out there and is instantly recognisable. Add to that the scale-style bracelet and you have one of the most modern feeling yet retro inspired timepieces around.

As a minute repeater, the highlight of this new edition is evidently the minute repeater function, visible on the dial at 10 o’clock. If you’re unfamiliar, minute repeaters are regarded as one of the most prestigious complications in watchmaking due to their complexity. They are what is known as a chiming complication, meaning it creates an audible sound through the use of hammers and gongs (it is these that are visible on the dial). What makes a minute repeater so complex is that it can use its chimes to tell the time on demand, giving the hours and minutes.

On top of that, the dial features a tourbillon at 6 o’clock adding to the overall complexity of the watch and display. In terms of style, the dial has a slight fumé gradient in blue with a textured finish made from Grand Feu enamel. Outside of anOrdain H. Moser do some of the best enamel dials around.

Powering the Streamliner Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon is the calibre HMC 905 manual winding movement. In order to integrate two of watchmaking’s most delicate complications in the minute repeater and tourbillon it’s made from more than 400 components. More impressive is the fact that it maintains a power reserve of 90-hours. A true stunner both mechanically and visually. As you’d expect, a watch this complex is priced at CHF 269,000 (approx. £237,480).
