Bell & Ross BR X1 Black Titanium Chronograph

Bell & Ross BR X1 Black Titanium Chronograph

New watch brands could learn a thing or two from Bell & Ross. For a young(ish) brand creating an identity is key, something that builds a fan base of loyal customers. For Bell & Ross this has been relatively easy, even if some of their designs in the past have been a little divisive. But it’s because their design ethos and DNA have remained very much unchanged that they’re now one of the must-have brands for military style watches.

For their latest watch, the BR X1 Black Titanium Chronograph 45mm, the brand has revealed a new version of their signature square watch but this time it’s made from titanium and black ceramic. The result is pure mechatronic-chic.

Subtle tweaks on the case and dial include an external ring made from black ceramic, added to the titanium bezel, as well as bumpers on the corners of the case and lugs for added protection while also giving it a dark edge. Quite literally.

Inside, the watch is powered by the same automatic BR-CAL.313 found in Bell & Ross’ expansive BR X1 collection. Because its modular, the dial has been completely skeletonised to allow the mechanism and open-worked date wheel at 6 o’clock to be on full display, creating a deep architectural visual.

One things for certain, the BR X1 Black Titanium Chronograph is sure to be a fan-favourite. Since only 250 pieces will be made, we also expect to see them sell. Fast.

The BR X1 Black Titanium Chronograph is priced at £14,400; www.bellross.com
